Gingko Wood Cutting Board, Large Organic Rectangle

This traditional Japanese cutting board (manaita) is lightweight, buttery smooth, and in keeping with its physical qualities, carved into a soft organic rectangular shape.

Long used by professional chefs in Japan, these manaitas are made from Gingko wood, which provides a firm cutting surface that is also gentle on your knife and resistant to dents due to the self-recovering nature of the wood. Fine grained, smooth to the touch, and relatively lightweight, craftsmen carefully select the piece of wood and only the part suitable for manaita is carved out and finished by hand, resulting in a solid board with a beautiful grain.

Care: Clean promptly after use. Scrub thoroughly with a scrub brush and rinse with running water, wipe dry. To ensure proper drying, stand the board upright away and away from direct sunlight, which may cause warping and cracking. Do not wash in dishwasher.
