This charming manaita (chopping board) is a great size for compact spaces and small households.
Long used by professional chefs in Japan, these manaitas are made from Gingko wood, which provides a firm cutting surface that is also gentle on your knife and resistant to dents due to the self-recovering nature of the wood. Fine grained, smooth to the touch, and relatively lightweight, craftsmen carefully select the piece of wood and only the part suitable for manaita is carved out and finished by hand, resulting in a solid board with a beautiful grain.
